Frequently Asked
Questions
Q: Ok so why does it cost a little more to have my dog groomed in a
mobile unit vs. a shop?
A: We are providing a convenient, specialized service at your home or office. We bring all the benefits of a full service salon to you, which
is saving you the time and expense of having to transport your dog back and forth. The benefits to your
pet include: No carsickness, no exposure to multiple dogs, diseases, or parasites, no cage drying
or crating, and no distractions....your dog will receive individual attention in a quiet,
comfortable, climate controlled setting all of which result in less stress and anxiety for your
dog.
While mobile grooming isn't for everyone, many people find that the convenience
and personal attention they and their dog receive is well worth the added cost.
Q: Hey we all work for a living...Do I need to be present for you to groom my dog?
A: Only for the initial appointment so that we may introduce
ourselves to you and your dog. At this time you are welcome to "tour" our state of the art grooming
facility and provide us with any special care instructions for handling your dog. The safety and
health of your dog is our primary concern. For subsequent appointments all we need is access to your
dog. You can decide how we have access, whether that be through a relative or neighbor, garage door, or
other means.
Q: Does my pet need vaccinations?
A: Yes. We ask that you provide a current rabies shot record along with the
name and phone number of your veternarian. You are not required to have the bordetella vaccination as
your dog is not being caged up for long periods of time with other dogs.
Q: What if my dog isn't a "perfect angel"?
A: Although most dogs are well behaved, we realize that some
are not. We understand this, however, for the safety of all involved we require that you disclose
to us whether your dog has bitten someone or has aggressive tendencies. Owners will be held liable for
any damages or injuries caused by their pet. We will do our best to accomodate you, but we reserve the right
to refuse service to a naughty dog.
Q: So I don't floss everyday and I don't brush my dog as often as I should...Will there be
additional charges if my doggie's do looks more like a rat's nest?
A: Unfortunately the answer is yes. Dematting is a painful, time consuming and
costly procedure that causes great discomfort to the dog. In cases where the dog is extremely matted the only
solution may be to completely remove the coat, allowing new, healthy hair to grow back. The groomer will
discuss the options with you, and any additional charges will be agreed upon by both parties prior to the dog being
groomed.
Q: Can I observe my pet being groomed?
A: Absolutely.
Q: How do I pay you?
A: We will accept only cash for the first visit. Subsequent visits may be
paid for with cash or personal check. Returned checks will be subject to a $30.00 returned check
fee.
Q: What if "something suddenly comes up" and I need to reschedule my
appt?
A: We understand that situations can arise that would result in the need to
reschedule. All we ask is that you contact us at least 24 hrs in advance of your appointment. We
provide 24 hr voice mail. In the event that we arrive for a scheduled appointment and we are unable to get
access to your dog, we will leave an invoice at your door for the "trip charge".
Q: I have another question that's not listed on this page....now what?
A: That's easy, just pick up the phone and give us a call at 219.871.9807 or
email us at info@dawgnsuds.com.
